New on Netflix in October 2024

Netflix is preparing for an amazing October 2024 with a diverse lineup of new series and movies. Below are the films coming to the platform this October, including both new and old, that we recommended.

21 Jump Street (2012)

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum team up in this action-packed comedy as Schmidt and Jenko, two young police officers who go undercover as high school students to investigate a drug ring. Expect hilarious situations, awkward attempts to fit in the high school life, and unexpected challenges while they try to keep their true identities under wraps.

22 Jump Street (2014)

In this sequel to 21 Jump Street, the duo Schmidt and Jenko go undercover at a local college. They encounters fresh challenges as they adjust to college life, deal with friendship, while investigating another drug operation.

8 Mile (2002)

Eminem portrays an aspiring rapper from Detroit who struggles with poverty, personal hardships, and self-doubt. The film follows his story to overcome personal and social difficulties, and thrive in the underground world. The soundtrack includes “Lose Yourself,” the hit song which won an Academy Award.

Boyz n the Hood (1991)

A coming-of-age story set in South Central L.A. The film, starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Laurence Fishburne, and Ice Cub, follows three young guys growing up in an environment of crime, poverty, and racial tension. It focuses on responsibility, and systemic issues affecting Black communities. 

Bridesmaids (2011)

When Annie, played by Kristen Wiig, is asked to be the maid of honor for her best friend, she finds herself in an unexpected situation. The movies follows Annie’s chaotic journey filled with hilarious and outrages moments to compete with another bridesmaid and prepare the perfect wedding. Beneath the laughter, you can also find a touching story about friendship, navigating life’s anxieties, and finding yourself amidst the chaos. It gained critical acclaim and was a box office success.

Cinderella Man (2005)

The film stars Russell Crowe as James J. Braddock, a real-life boxer during the Great Depression.
